Even though insulation is necessary I really did not enjoy stuffing in the few pieces our friends couldn't do. I am still itchy...going on day 2....pretty much the worst thing on the planet! although subtle, my savior is sitting right there on the work bench
Tuesday
It's Been a While....
To our 3 followers :)....work has been going on throughout the summer and a ton of progress has been made. The new plumbing and electrical has been signed-off, and the rough inspection is due in the next week or so.
We will have some updated pictures to share hopefully this week.

Some Updated Pics
The good news....the front is shingled. The bad news....the back is not
The second floor rough framing and electrical was ready for the inspection until we decided to add a second floor bath. Eric to the building inspector "I think I'm almost ready to have you sign off", building inspector "no you're not"...uplifting
New hallway way to access bedrooms
It's actually starting to look like a house again...windows are amazing

This Weekends Progress

Putting it All Back Together!
Wednesday
The roof...the roof..the roof is on the ground

Yep..it's gone and it wasn't easy. Maria had to leave twice because she was affraid we were going to kill ourselves lowering these beams. They easily way 500lbs. each and they came down as one piece. I was even a bit nervous!
Cool construction, post and beam. No nails were used, just this peg made from oak...we saved that peg :)

Look at the guns on that guy holding up the beam...impressive hahahaha. Jeff and Jamie I could not have done this without you...literally

Lovely Rte. 53 in Weymouth, and some missing roof parts

I just hope this is still standing when I we back in the morning!

Horse hair and lathe...what a mess, 15 bags filled and it was not easy getting them to the 1st floor

Off to the right is the house, we are re-roofing the shed right now.....I wish!

Monday
Rebuilding the Office

After 8 solid hours of demo and framing the front wall is water-tight and the windows are in!

Rough framing and sheathing, not one even or level surface in the entire room

Demo!!!! There were 3, 2-by-4's holding up the entire front of the this part of the house. There were also 3 windows and a door none of which were sealed properly and caused a ton of water damage, I'm thinking it was a good idea to update this portion of the house.
Wednesday
Kitchen and Office Updates

So the silly putty is gone....now I have to fix the floor that rotted away some 30 years ago!
Yep, that's a wall...or what's left of one. At some point I am taking an educated guess and saying there was a leak.
So all the awesome 70's faux wood paneling is gone, and to my surprise there was sheetrock in good shape, with he exception of the previous pic.
There used to be cabinets there....2 layers of wallpaper, half a wall of 1/4" peg board and some corn kernals, al lot of corn kernals!
